Piece of info :This note is contributed by Ankur Aggarwal,a dear.I being a slave of the satan could not justify if i wrote on Gandhi,cause my youthful rage might present him in a distorted manner.Only a holy soul like Ankur could do it.But i have to admit,if you ever admired Chetan Bhagat, just go through Gandhi's MY EXPERIMENTS WITH TRUTH.You would be mesmerised by the sheer brilliance of that saint.
More than 60 years after his death, a large minority of Indian population (mainly the youth) began to consider Gandhian principles and ethic as too impractical and irrelevant in today's context.Most believed that Gandhi's thoughts are outdated,ineffective and at worse,damaging.
Then came perhaps the most celebrated movie ever made on Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi-Lage Raho Munnabhai.A movie that brought Gandhi out of the books of history and presented him in a fresh and reverred manner.Of course,the methods shown were not kosher(Gandhi would never sent flowres to anyone,he actually hated picking them).But then,it was the spirit of the movie that made all the difference.
The immense popularity of the movie stands testimony of the fact that principles of Mahatma are not completely disowned by the majority.It is just that we don't understand the importance of something if everything seems to work smoothly,the way it's going.Of course,why would you turn non-violent if violence can actually do it for you??
Taking a deeper into what Gandhi had to say ;Gandhian principles are more than just the movie.
No mortal is born perfect.Even Gandhi admits to have beaten his young wife,smoking a cigarette ,eating meat and nearly visiting a prostitute.Likewise,not all his principles can be taken for granted,for instance ,Gandhi never considered anyone above all,save god.He refused to follow all kinds of laws that were imposed by the govt.
Gandhian ways might prove absurd in some times cause there is a ruthless world out there.What we can actually gain from him is his motivation, unnerving wits and guts.A single person can even cause a stir of humongous proportions if he goes ideal and controls oneself.

ReplyDeletethe thing that comes to my mind when someone speaks about gandhi is that he is the only one who could unite majority of india irrespective of any divisions. i think he is the greatest leader india ever saw....
